Søren Agergaard Andersen is the Chief Risk Officer for Nordea Asset Management, the biggest asset manager in the Nordics with more than € 250bn AuM. Søren is responsible for the overall enterprise risk function, managing an international team of risk professionals in Denmark, Sweden and Luxembourg. Before joining the asset management industry, Søren held leading positions within risk in banking and pension/life insurance. One of his main priorities is to define and uphold a strong and yet flexible governance and risk framework, which can support a sound overall risk culture. Søren holds a M.A. in Mathematics and Economics and a PRM certification.

Fabrice Brossart is the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for AIG International General Insurance and oversees AIG's risk management function in 70+ entities outside of North America, ensuring these operations have a risk management system proportionate to their exposures and in line with local regulatory and corporate governance requirements.

Fabrice joined AIG in February 2011 as Chief Actuary for the European region, subsequently taking additional responsibilities for risk management and leading the Solvency II program. Between 2014 and 2015 Fabrice worked in several risk management roles at the AIG head office in New York, enhancing significantly the Group capital model. Returning to London in 2016, Fabrice played a key role in AIG's response to Brexit and the standing up of AIG Europe SA. More recently he has focused on business resilience, risk culture and conduct, climate risk and transformation.

An alumnus of France's Ecole Polytechnique, Fabrice holds actuarial qualifications in France and the UK as well as the Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary designation. Previous employers include AXA Insurance UK and Willis Towers Watson. Fabrice has represented AIG at the CRO Forum and supported two AIG Group CEOs in their engagement with the Geneva Association. He is a member of AIG's Executive Diversity Council and has co-led ERM's Diversity and Inclusion Council since 2017. Fabrice was named CRO of the year by Insurance ERM in January 2018.

Sophie is the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of Gulf International Bank (UK) Limited. She is responsible for driving an effective risk culture throughout the company, designing the risk and compliance frameworks and overseeing risk management and regulatory compliance practices. Sophie joined GIB UK with extensive experience in the field, having previously served as Executive Director for Compliance and Operational Risk Control at UBS Asset Management. Before this, she was Global Head of Operational Risk at Barings, and non-Executive Director of the Baring-Coller Secondaries Fund. Sophie was also an Operational Risk Manager and the Group Head of Investment Risk Framework at Schroders.

Stuart Burns currently has the role of Senior Technical Specialist at the PRA, working in the team reviewing and approving IRB models. He has responsibility for aspiring IRB firms. He previously ran the IRB risk weight analysis in the Annual Cyclical Scenario (ACS) stress test, challenging firms' stressed projections and recommending capital responses.

Stuart has over 20 years experience delivering credit risk, stress testing and economic capital models. This includes roles as:

Head of Models for the Rainbow Business at Royal Bank of Scotland.

Head of Credit Risk Methodology at Barclays Capital, where he rebuilt the team following the departure of the previous head, and managed all IRB related regulatory issues.

Head of Corporate Analytics at HSBC, where he was responsible for Credit Risk Modelling and saw the bank achieve Advanced IRB status. He also introduced credit risk stress testing and economic capital.

Head of Economic Capital and Model Risk Management at Standard Chartered Bank, where his responsibilities included building an offshore validation team, and coordination of stress testing across portfolios and risk types. Advanced IRB status was delivered on the strength of these areas.

In his current role, Amit looks after IT risks, third party/vendor risk management and fraud risks across the Corporate and Institutional Banking division for BNP Paribas. Increasingly, he is converging the management of all such transversal operational risk topics into Operational Resilience and therefore OpRes is becoming a key priority for him. He has been a key contributor to the CIB OpRes programme and provided oversight and supervision on the topic through his second line of defence role.

Biography

Maciej is a seasoned banking professional with 20+ years of experience ranging from financial control, credit risk management to corporate banking, derivatives and fixed income, combined with experience of regulatory topics and passion for tackling the climate transformation.

He joined NatWest Markets in June 2020 where he's primarily responsible for setting up and managing risk hub to support investment banking of NatWest Group.

Before (since June 2014) he worked in ECB Banking Supervision (aka Single Supervision Mechanism – SSM) as Head of Section & Joint Supervisory Team (JST) Coordinator, responsible for consolidated supervision one of the largest banks in the Netherlands. As JST Coordinator, he led risk identification and implementation of risk-based and forward-looking Supervisory Examination Program. He took part in the start-up phase that included recruitment as well as fine-tuning of tools and processes.
Prior to the ECB, Maciej worked in various roles in a number of banks: PKO Bank Polski 2008-2014 (Head of Credit Risk Assessment Department, member of Bank's Credit Committee, Advisor to CEO), HSBC 2008 (Head of Structured Finance) and Citi in Poland and Hungary 1996-2008 (Debt Capital Markets, Derivatives Sales, Financial Control).
Maciej has graduated from Warsaw School of Economics and holds a Master Degree in Banking and Finance. He is a speaker and panelist at conferences on risk and regulatory outlook topics.

He has previously performed secondments with Customs and Excise, SOCA and the NCA. In addition to his day to day responsibilities Alex is an active hostage and crisis negotiator and has considerable experience in the investigation and management of kidnap, blackmail and extortion.

Gary have extensive experience of Solvency II operational risk capital, risk and control frameworks, risk appetite, conduct risk, risk culture, third party risk oversight and building high performance teams.  He has a particular interest in psychology and decision making.

Sean has over 25 years of experience in Risk Management across disciplines, including Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Credit Risk, Strategic Risk and Front Office Supervision.   He is a passionate advocate for the furtherance of Operational Risk as a discipline, co-authoring papers and acting as a speaker and panellist at many external events.

Sean has held Director level roles at a number of organisations, both on a consultancy and permanent basis.  He is currently Director of Enterprise and Operational Risk at Metro Bank, running a growing team responsible for the Bank's overall risk management framework and approach to Operational Risk from a second line perspective.  This includes liaison with the PRA and FCA and making ongoing enhancements to the Bank's approach to risk appetite, governance and embedding a strong risk culture across the three lines of defence.  Sean has been integral to a transformation in the Bank's approach, including putting in place a new Risk Taxonomy, Bank Risk Report, approach to RCSA, Control Testing, Operational Risk losses and Scenario Analysis as well as setting up a new Operational Risk Oversight Committee, which he chairs.  His team is working closely with the first line on approaches to Operational Resilience, Third Party Risk Management and the management of People, Change, Data, Information Security and Technology Risks.

Sean is a member of the Institute of Operational Risk/IRM Operational Risk Committee, providing advice on its approach to Operational Risk and running the IOR's Chapters across the globe.

Giorgio leads the Analytical Development Group (ADG), a global team of 15 highly skilled individuals (PhDs, CFAs, FRMs), developing all quantitative models that power the Credit Analytics platform within Credit Risk Solutions, and enable users to assess the credit risk of public and private companies, worldwide. His team helps positioning the models and provides deep technical expertise during pre-sale and post-sale process. Giorgio is the inventor of a novel approach to quantify credit risk of publicly listed companies.

Prior to joining S&P Global Market Intelligence, Giorgio worked as Associate Director in Group Risk at Barclays, leading the re-development of its AMA operational risk model. He holds a PhD in Quantum Mechanics and Semiconductor Physics, and a magna cum laude degree in Physics and is the author of more than 50 papers in scientific peer-reviewed journals.

His latest paper on energy transition risks and opportunities was published in Journal of Energy Markets in 2020.

Previously, Per worked in Market Risk Management for Credit Trading and CVA at Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan and was also a risk manager in JP Morgan's prime finance business. Per has an MSc in Engineering Physics from Lund University, Sweden.

Mr Henry has a number of  research publications, eg the ECB STAMP€ e-book. An ENSAE graduate, he holds an Economics PhD and a History BA from Paris Sorbonne.

Libor Krkoška has been Deputy Director, Country Strategy at the EBRD since November 2018. He joined the EBRD in 1997, initially working in the Chief Economist Office and then as the Head of Office in Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Cyprus. Before coming to the EBRD, Libor was a researcher in the Economic Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences from 1994, and, prior to that, worked for Česka Pojistovna, the largest Czech insurance company. Libor holds a Ph.D. in Economics from CERGE-EI in Prague, was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, and obtained a Masters degree in Mathematics from Charles University in Prague.

Nigel Milbank is a Cambridge University graduate and Chartered Accountant having trained  with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte. Nigel has held audit positions in Schroders and Credit Suisse as an Audit Director, following which he helped set up the Operational risk function and Product Control global assurance at Credit Suisse.

Nigel was Director of Enterprise and Operational Risk at Santander UK from 2006 to 2011 and joined RBS in 2012 to run the Group ICAAP function. I led the design and running of the Bank's 2019 Liquidity focussed exploratory scenario exercise and I am currently managing the production of the 2021 climate-risk focussed stress exercise.

Liv is on secondment to the IMP, leading the IMP's facilitation on digitisation. She also chairs the IMP's Non-financial Digital Transformation Working Group, an initiative aiming to determine if and how non-financial reporting lends itself to structured data using the open international standard for digital business reporting, XBRL.

As the co-founder of XBRL and the XBRL International consortium, Liv works globally with leading market regulators, accounting associations and institutions. She has held several speaking engagements on financial and business reporting standards, its benefits, potential applications and adoption in corporate governance and social responsibility reporting. Liv has also held several leadership positions related to XBRL, including as a member of the IFRS XBRL Advisory Committee, the XBRL International Steering Committee and the XBRL Standing Committee.

Liv has authored one of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)'s most successful professional courses, "Accounting System Technology for the 21st Century", and published numerous articles for international publications and journals. She is an editorial board member of the "International Journal of Disclosure and Governance", as well as the co- and contributing author to several books, including "XBRL for Dummies", and the "Governance, Risk and Compliance Handbook", "The Landscape of Integrated Reporting," and "Effective Auditing for Corporations".

For the past 10 years, Liv has also been the Senior Director of Strategic Customer Initiatives at Workiva Inc., which has served over 70% of fortune 500 companies and more than 200 EU companies with their statutory reporting requirements.

Liv is a long-standing member of the IMA and is an Advisory Board Member to the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Albany. She is Norwegian and currently based in Amsterdam.

Are there any rules on the dress code?

Business attire is requested. The Summit is a formal opportunity to network with like-minded professionals and to gain knowledge from the industry's finest risk management experts.

What is the cost and what is included in the registration fee?

We offer incentives for 'early bird' registrants of the Summit, as outlined on our pricing structure. Registration includes breakfast, refreshment breaks, lunches, the cocktail reception at the end of the day, full access to the sessions and exhibition area. Presentations from sessions are also available, subject to speaker approval.

Where can I find the Summit documentation and speaker presentations?

All registered attendees will receive an email with access to documentation and speaker presentations after the Summit* We will work with our presenters to include as many presentations as possible on our Risk Insights App during the Summit. *Please note that our speakers often have to gain permission from their relevant compliance departments to release their presentations. On rare occasions compliance may not allow presentations to be distributed.
